The Pilates Body is conveniently located in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh in Peters Township (McMurray). Directly across from Donaldson’s Crossroads, we are in Lake View Square in the lake side of the building behind Geno Levi Salon and Juniper Grill Restaurant. Neighboring communities include Upper St. Clair, Mt. Lebanon, Bethel Park, South Fayette, Canonsburg and North Strabane.
I have been going to The Pilates Body for a year. My body has completely transformed and I am a true believer in the method. It really works! I have developed long, lean, toned muscles and have never felt fitter in my life. By trusting in the method and progressively working through and learning the moves you get stronger and advance your abilities over time. It also helps you unwind and decompress from life’s daily stresses. It is one hour of “me” time to focus on your health and wellbeing. The instructors really care about you and assist you in getting the best workout for you. The other clients are supportive and make the classes fun. It truly is a non intimidating environment.

I always thought pilates was hard, and only very fit and flexible people could do it. A friend convinced me to give it a try and I am so happy I did. Challenging yes, but it really focuses on what is most important to being active and healthy. No jumping around or excruciating working, just focused and targeted at my abs, which i really need. can't wait to do more.

Having been an avid health and fitness fan for many years, but never having participated in pilates, I was more than pleasantly surprised at the knowledge, commitment and patience the owners and trainers at The Pilates Body extended. Feeling completely at ease, I followed their direction to embark upon an exciting journey of redefining my body and increasing core and component strength. It is not often that you achieve the synergy of ambience, experience, comfort, and challenge; The Pilates Body is the exception. I have enjoyed (and sweated through!) every minute of the past five months and look forward to many more years of health and fitness under the learned direction of the Pilates Body.

The studio is clean and fresh and classes welcome clients of all ages. The instructors are excellent, positive and motivating and respect the needs and goals of each individual. The Pilates Body is great! I have been attending sessions for nearly 2 years there and I just love my instructor. Pilates has helped me with my posture, balance, stamina, and overall wellbeing. The instructors are all knowledgeable and can adjust a session according to your needs. I would highly recommend the Pilates Body to anyone who is looking to get fit and stay fit.

The Pilates Body instructors work on a specific plan of action for me each week and the progress I have made has been remarkable! The studio is very accommodating and flexible with classes and lessons, and their certified instructors are top notch (and, the studio is beautiful)!!

All of the running, aerobics, and weight training that I had done over the years prior to finding Pilates, had taken a toll on my body. My knees were becoming weak and I had lower back pain. The Pilates workout strengthened and worked my muscles without the pounding impact that came from my previous exercise routine. Also, Pilates is the only exercise that has tightened the loose abdominal skin that persisted after I had two C-sections. No matter how many sit-ups or crunches I did, the loose skin would not tighten. After 3 months of practicing Pilates, my abdomen was tone and the loose skin disappeared. I am so pleased with the results that I have experienced, that I will always make time for practicing Pilates!
